Church of the Bright Apostle

The Church of the Bright Apostle was founded shortly after the Rupture. People were grappling with a massive cultural shift, the loss of almost all of their technologies and amenities, let alone life-saving tech from medical aide to automated crop care and harvesting. The entire world needed to be rebuilt.    For those who could wield magic, a belief in oneself was often enough to restore hope but there were many without that luxury. For them the church provided some form of solace, and structure. Counseling services for those who suffered from Descension (as well as a charitable collaboration with Starmark to provide discounted medication) as well as community and opportunities for work and neighborhood involvement.    During the early years after the Rupture the CBA exploded in size, spanning the globe in a matter of a decade. Its constituency has shrunk since then, but it is still one of the largest organizations in the world, in size, capital and population.    The CBA holds a variety of core tenants: 1. Descension is an ailment that can be cured through prayer, a pious life and tithing.  2. WHOS THEIR GOD 3. HOW DO THEY WORSHIP THEIR GOD   As with all religions there are some particularly zealous believers and sects, tho the majority of Church of the Bright Apostle followers reside somewhere on the lapsed to light believer spectrum. Even then their beliefs are widely held in many places, eliding and influencing local custom, beliefs and cultures.    Priests of the order come from all walks of life. Some are clerics, others non-magical healers. Most are faithful people who feel a call to support their community.    The church has a loose hierarchical structure, with a high priest and college of elders that decide the direction of the church, hold yearly celebrations as well as collecting and dispensing tithes across the country.
