The House of Mysteries
The House of Mysteries are the guardians of all supernatural and magical artifacts, creatures, and beings. They are charged with the protection of magical knowledge, and with the prevention of unchecked chaos and entropy. They are split into many Rooms, each with their own way of working and philosophies. It is rare for the Rooms to work together, and finding practitioners from different Rooms working together is a sure sign that something has gone terribly wrong.
Structure
The House is made up of innumerable rooms that operate in near total seclusion from each other. There is a council of the house, where each room has the same power and influence as each other, but it is rarely called together.

They seek to contain and control magic, chaos, and entropy. They also train individuals with magical talent provided the can find a room and pass the tests to enter that room
Assets
As they are so decentralized, their assets are hard to measure. They vary greatly from room to room. That said, it can be assumed that most rooms are well equipped with magical artifacts, food, and protections.
History
The history of The House spans back to ancient Egypt, when mystics from all parts of the world found similarities in their experiences and beliefs. Recognizing that they would be stronger together, the created an organization to protect the world from the dangers of magic, chaos, and entropy.
