Desolation

The City of Desolation is located in the heart of the Nevada desert. It is a dry dusty place, outside of the city there are frequent sandstorms, high temperatures and hungry predators.
Conditions in the great factories are without exception unbearable, baking hot and foul smelling.
The trade routes for the city are the canal and rail network, the stations for each are found underground, these city blocks are a great hive of activity with automaton-transports and dockworkers coming and going at all hours of the day.
Drinking water is scarce in Desolation the old irrigation system is fed by snow-melt from the Sierra Nevada mountains, but these old waterways are poorly maintained and vulnerable to attack, perhaps one day the water will stop flowing. Most of the water in the city is recycled and foul tasting. It is rumored that the Rich have there own source of water.
