The Lost Votes of Crypto City

The Lost Votes of Crypto City refers to a missing USB drive that contains 50.1% of the blockchain vote for the charter city of Crypto City. Located in Colombia, Crypto City is one of the largest charter cities in the world by population, with over three million registered inhabitants and hundreds of corporations. Crypto City was originally designed to take full advantage of the blockchain and crypto as a whole. Part of its founding charter was the stipulation that votes in the city were determined by a fixed number of non-fungible tokens distributed among the population, that could be sold or traded away. However, in early 2036, it was discovered that one anonymous individual had managed to acquire 50.1% of all voting NFTs available. As more voting NFTs could not be created, this one individual would be able to completely dictate the city's governance.

Unfortunately for that individual, they were the victim of a hit by a major drug cartel. Although the individual's identity has been suppressed by the Crypto City government due to privacy concerns, word was eventually leaked that their votes had been transferred onto a USB drive. This began one of the largest treasure hunts in modern history. The drive has changed hands many times over the past several decades, between corporations, Operatives, the Crypto City government, billionaires, cartels, and even the Colombian government for a short time. However, as of 2056, the current owner of the drive is unknown. In addition, the votes present on the drive have not been used for that period. Despite this, many people and organisations remain on the hunt for the elusive USB drive and the political power contained within.
