At one point in Niu's life, she considered herself genderfluid. Especially during her time as Xin Wang due to having to dress and act like a man just to get into the Institute. She thought she would have to pretend to be a man for a majority of her life, eventually coming to terms with it.
However, after meeting Jun and Lee, Niu learned to love herself for who she really was. Unlike the rest of the world, Jun and Lee did not push gender roles onto Niu. They allowed her to be her real self: The fiery, passionate woman she was born to be.
