Between mechanical they will share their serial address. When interacting audibly with other species they take an (usually) human name and use part of their serial address number as a surname.

Mechanical don't have genders but will pick an appropriate voice to match the gender of their name.

History
The Mechanical woke up in 6218 EOB. What caused them to reawaken is not known. At the awakening there where 8,397 mechanical known to be operational, there are now at least 7,254 remaining.

Mechanical don't die due to the passage of time.
