Tears of Jadel

On the north of the peninsula of Indice, between the rivers Eresse and Mevole, lies the city of Sinia. It does not have a port, as it is not near the sea. It would and should be unimportant, but this is the place where the most exquisite jewels are made. The mines at the north of the city, in the belly of the Agnello mountains, are where the majestic diamonds with the hearts of blue are mined, and in Sinia they are turned into the jewels that become symbols of wealth, status, importance and - for the commoners who end up with the smallest pieces - eternal love.   This is the place where the tears of Jadel are made, and the place itself is now called the tears of Jadel - a city within the city of Sinia. Although the mines themselves are a place where only the worst criminals or the most desperate go to work - the mining of the blue diamonds is very challenging, and to break or scratch one would mean severe punishments -, the tears of Jadel is one of the most peaceful settlements.   The settlement is made of stone, as are most buildings in Indice. Most of the workers reside in Sinia, but the people who are responsible for handling the tears never leave. They reside within the settlement, in comfortable rooms, and their every need is met by a small army of cooks, cleaners and companions, so that they will want for nothing, and will be able to focus all of their technique and skill in each and every jewel. Of course, this being Indice, the settlement has become notorious for the orgies that take place regularly, as well as for the vast quantities of spirits and drugs that are frequently consumed. Sometimes, if things go too far as to endanger the quality of a tear, stricter measures are taken, and some "accidents" might occur. However, so long as the quality of work remains perfect, almost anything is permitted.
