The Tala

The tala is the worldwide adopted currency. Originally Rupees were the currency in Aerava and Wen in Terr'aina, but shortly after the The Period of the Ocean's Expansion, the shogunate of Kaiyocea underwent an economical transition to fiat money, in the form of the Tala. As an attempt to revitalize the economy during a period of economic downfall, the Tala is a rounded square plastic piece about 2 mm in thickness, with an alloy framing a square hole in the center. The color of the piece denotes it's value - green is one tala, blue is 10, violet is 100 and pink are 1000. These plastic pieces are far lighter and then the old coinage of the realms, so all three realms have accepted them as currency in most places. Tala can be held together via a string, or placed into rows and stacked like paper.
