Dystinghiest

The people of the world of Dystinghiest are divide into two groups rascally Humans and Demons. To simplify any creatures who are intelligent and capable of speech in some form falls into one of the two categories. Monstrous races seen more as beasts capable as masquerading as civil people are Demons. This is a name earned to them from the Original Demons(Race name) who started a long genocidal campaign against the Human races for their inferior evolutionary steps. This event became known as The Great Demon War, during this time history in written and verbal forms were lost causing lapses in history before this time. Humans are the races closest to Original Humans(Race name) or the progenitor of all current intelligent races.   The world's history as all species can agree was a disaster or illness nearly wiped out all life on the earth. The survivors evolved into the current residence of the planet. Ancient texts and technology give Original humans god like status the technology advanced the world well ahead of where it should be. The current human species taking the mantle of Heaven's hope believe that because of their lack of change from the "originals" they are superior In-part brought on by their victory during The Great Demon War. This is a gross over simplification and by no means shared by all humans. Regardless, after The Great Demon War a large portion of the life had been removed and much knowledge lost both sides blame the other leading to Strained racial relations.   Magic is a science of the world and used in many parts of it research is a common practice in many groups and generally accepted for its variety of uses. Medical, combat, in the home, or on the go magic is used by most in this world and is an indicator of ones worth in places like True Haven or as part of ones trade like The Vampiric Empire. Unfortunately, for reasons yet discovered some races like Humans, Vampirics, Fawns, Bestial Fawns and Angelics are capable of using the entire magic spectrum. Where races like Brutes, Grey Jacks, Lycans/Shifters, or Blade Strider are only capable of parts of the magic spectrum if any at all.   Technology is one of the two main paths of research with the pros of technology being undermined by the resources and upkeep required to it. While this world has technology that has made food production far simplified the upkeep is more of an issue than the resources required to use it. As such, most technology currently is "Magitech" or technology combined with resources from magic. More often pronounced by batteries containing Mana as a power source or having mages recharge devices by funneling magic to it. Technology in the world of Dystinghiest is used heavy in True Haven and Heavens hope in the day-by-day life compared to the other two territories.
