Dymrgant

Dymrgant, an old world scarred by the ages and pockmarked with ancient battlefields, spell wastes, lush forests, and harsh plains.   The world has ended and restarted many times, thanks to the machinations of heroes, villains, gods and devils. But things have been quiet for last 2000 years...a long peace has been found after the fall of the Roeche empire. Their hubris was the hammer used to build the coffin, in which they now lie. All that is left of them are the ruins of their once great cities, and questions.   The gods are quiet, but present in the world. Followers are rewarded with blessings, and good fortune most of the time, and organized religion affects everyday life as you would expect.   Outside of the gods, are the forces of chaos and law. To us, in our world we would refer to them as myths, and folklore. In Dymrgant, they're taken a bit more seriously. A farmer dreads the howling of the ashen wolf, as the last of summer comes too soon. An entertainer, in a mountainside inn pauses as he feels the thrum of the universe, plucked by a single chord. A merchant steps over the body of his only remaining economic rival, their blood spilling into strange currency.   These are the Patrons of this world.
