Dwell Still entirely a world in progress (WIP)

This is my first attempt at building a real/semi-serious world. I've messed around with several others (I'm not sure how many are public, but most were pretty terrible and/or short-lived), but I really do want to make a world that I can write a real story in. I'd further develop the Flying Flux, but that was never intended to be the foundation of a novel or any comprehensive plot. It's way too chaotic. Maybe once I've got several additional years of experience writing, I'll give it a shot, but until then, I think I'm going to need something a bit more... understandable.
That said, I love making weird things. Just because I'm planning to make this world a bit more reasonable doesn't mean I'm going to completely mitigate my own creative flair. This also means I might end up tripping over myself while creating this world and filling it with contradictions... but I'll do my best to avoid that--and if it happens, I'll correct it. I'm obsessive, so either I'll be inactive or trying to manage every detail.

Near the beginning, the articles are going to be short. I'll publish my drafts immediately until I've got more of a structure to work with, but it's going to be a mess for a little while, so prepare yourself. Comments are active everywhere I could think to activate them, so feel free to leave your thoughts, suggestions, etc. I probably won't take design suggestions very seriously, since I've already got my own ideas for the most part, but I'm terrible with names. Names are such a pain in my ass--especially since I hate using real words (like Dwell/Bright) or words from dead languages. I also hate making up gibberish unless I'm trying to be funny--it always sounds stupid.

In any case, welcome to my big, flat, broken world. Get ready for some unreserved (okay, "slightly reserved" for the sake of consistency) nerdy chaos.

Follow if you'd like. Sorry if I'm a little inconsistent, I work full time and am about to start my next semester of college. Economics major, because just being a "science nerd", "amateur novelist", "world builder(?)" and Elder Scrolls lore enthusiast (I mean... I've watched many hours of videos on Elder Scrolls/Fallout lore and read quite a few articles on top of that, so maybe not so much an "enthusiast" as much as just someone who does that with their very limited free time).

If you're looking for somewhere to begin, I would recommend starting with the four main religions/deities, or (if you're more into the world itself), you can check out Magic). I think I'm going to put a little effort into customizing various details, similar to what I did with the Flying Flux (feel free to check it out, I think it's still public). However, maybe not quite so dramatic. That was a bit much, but that was also my intention.
You can also check out the world meta (at the bottom of the page).
