HIM

There are few things that the Awakened can claim to fear. The crisp crunch that comes with biting an apple. The bright orange and yellow embers of a blossoming flame. The relentless agony of prolonged exposure to the sun. However, the one force that will bind the Awakened together despite grievances or mistrust is the deep, primal fear of the being known as HIM. After all, HE is both progenitor and predator. Father and finality. Where HE walks, the Awakened dare not tread.
Not much is known about HIS origins, save that he sacrificed the Eldest in pursuit of immortality and was forever changed into something else. What is clear is that HE has made it HIS mission to pursue the Awakened to the ends of the earth. Some say HE requires the lifeblood of the Awakened to sustain his own twisted immortality. Some say that HE is on a mission to become the only truly immortal being in the world. A few even say that HE is merely a phantom, a tool of the oligarchy to keep the Awakened impotent and controlled. Regardless, what is widely accepted about HIM is that HE is incredibly powerful and absurdly monstrous, which is why the Keepers of the Land are essential to the continued survival of the Awakened.
