The Grove

Geography

This is a large oasis on a lake that is fed by underwater springs. It is a long skinny desert lake it is only about 400 feet at its widest, almost 3 miles long, and gets about 30 feet at its deepest. Along the banks are hundreds of Qutacona Trees, providing shade and protection for the smaller, more delicate trees and plants to grow. At the south edge of the grove is Sandlake in all other directions is a vast sea of sand for as far as the eye can see.

Ecosystem

Thanks to the palms' shade and the cold waters of the lake, it stays about 25 degrees cooler than the surrounding desert. Humidity averages about 40%, and there is always a light breeze working its way through the foliage. The Oasis Agriculturalist are the stewards of the land and work with nature to keep It strong and healthy.

Localized Phenomena

Over the waters of the oasis floating ten feet from the surface is the Elemental Anomaly created by the Council of the Seven . The anomaly is given credit for creation of the Qutacona Tree as well as the magical dead zone that blankets the region.

History

This oasis has survived thousands of years relatively unchanged. Even before the time of the anomaly, the spring-fed lake has been an essential location for fauna of the Ethereal Wastes.

Tourism

Multiple tours are given daily into the grove and the Tower of the Elements. Though most of the tours are taken by locals wanting to take in the beauty and magnificence of this desert garden. Several visitors from around the globe want to witness the anomaly and the grandioso of the grove. There are many fine establishments in Sandlake capable of housing any visitors.
