Stele of Geranubuzu

Three passages grace the stele, one ordered by Geranubuzu, a second by Zargalus, and a third by Nugaladani.

Manufacturing process

A large block of yellow limestone was quarried from somewhere in the eastern Sekarnu moutains and imported to the Sarisi's capital of Sanaru at great expense. Stonemasons then combined their proposed design with Geranubuzu's requests to create the stele.

Significance

The stele holds great cultural significance to the Kalu people, for it depicts a historical triumph over the mountain-dwelling tribes that plagued them since the dawn of civilization. This stele is exceptionally notable because it was looted from Sanaru by the Hatasuli under Zargalus - their king at the time - and set up in their city of Lukali as a trophy. Nugaladani, the fourth Sarisi of the fifth Kalumak, sacked Lukali and reclaimed the stele and re-erected it in Kalasu, the new capital of the kingdom.   Geranubuzu, fifth Sarisi of the fourth Kalumak, ordered its construction after his victory against the Marukas, who invaded Kalumak's eastern periphery as they had once every couple generations. This time, however, the Marukas gathered a host far larger than any they had before under a charismatic warlord named Isihalis, who swore revenge against the Kalu for murdering his entire family. Isihalis' army managed to sack four cities and many more towns and villages before being halted on the Azimun's northern bank. Legend has it Geranubuzu slew the invading king himself after severing his head from his shoulder in three gruesome blows.

Raw materials & Components
The stele was chiseled from a single block of yellow-gold limestone by Geranubuzu's craftsmen after being commissioned by the man himself. Yellow limestone was chosen because its coloration resembled that of the sun, the astronomical body associated with Geranu, the god whom he believed blessed his royal house with rule of Kalumak.
Tools
The stele was carved with chisels with varying thicknesses and edges.
