Chariot

Propulsion

A chariot needs horses for propulsion. Smaller chariots are pulled by one horse, but the most common variety seen in war relies on two.

Weapons & Armament

The men aboard carry weapons to both defend the chariot and attack those of the enemy. Standard equipment includes spears, swords, bows and arrow, and any projectiles that need to shot using magic. The men guide the horses around the battlefield in a Chariot Formation and fight other groups of chariots or harass infantry. Should an enemy's horses get injured or killed, or if their chariot breaks, the crew often ride closer to dispatch any survivors.

Armor and defense

Both men and horses are armored, although the specifications differ between the various chariot-riding kingdoms. Bronze scale is the most common, with lighter materials such as linen or leather also being used. Bronze plate is distinctive to the Natiawas, and exclusive to men. Horses are armored just enough to provide adequate protection and to allow them to run as quickly as possible. The chariots themselves are usually a mostly unprotected wooden frame secured with leather straps. They are Embedded with Clearstone energy to allow them to deflect incoming magical projectiles.

Communication Tools & Systems

Chariots rely on standards to communicate with each other during the heat of battle. Small flames can be used to signal in areas with less visibility, but this method carries the risk of setting the vehicle on fire.

Hangars & docked vessels

Chariots are stored differently depending on social structure of each kingdom. In Natiawa, for example, each Axun stores all his chariots in a massive storehouse and lends them to his chariot riders. Kalumak has its nobles store and maintain their own chariots.   Repair takes place whenever it is required, such as when some leather straps come loose or when an axle breaks.
