Sah Oasis
The existence of this place should be utterly impossible and yet, despite everything, it continues to grow and flourish. Sah Oasis is the biggest natural oasis found in a dessert known to man and botanist flock from all over the world to wonder at its marvels. It has some extremely unique, albeit to industry kind of boring, flora and three waterfalls. It is the happiest sight of many people who get lost in the eastern desert and luck guides them to the only place capable to save them. It is not surprising that this place got nicknamed as the Jewel of the East, because stumbling across water among the sand dunes is truly beyond any man's riches.
It has been discovered that this particular oasis is kept alive by an underground river whose length and volume remains unknown. It is not safe, even for experts, to dig deep to the cavernous systems below, as the constant threat of being trapped under tons of sand remains looming above them. The behaviour of the river in the oasis itself has been studied extensively and other smaller man made oasis were created by helping the water underground break through the surface using wells. That created multiple stops through the desert for nomad caravans to get through relatively safely, if they remember to protect themselves against the animals and sand storms as well.
As it is a vital part of the ecosystem of everything that manages to live in the region, or pass through, it is the only natural wonder that is protected by an international treaty of all countries that border on the eastern desert. Thanks to its beauty, many richer people choose this destination as tourists and go to the lakes to gain luck and rejuvenate themselves. Many scientist also hope that in the future, similar agreements will be able to be made in other biologically significant places.
