Rufus Courtenay is a well known journalist covering stories from the biggest cities of the main island. After getting into a very public scandal involving him tresspassing (in a bedroom) of an influential senator, he got very swiftly kicked out of the newspapers he worked at, and ever since then has been keeping a low profile. He occasionally have been publishing some articles in smaller independent presses. There are rumours going around that he might have left the island completely. No one agrees on where he went exactly, but it is a likely scenario as his articles recently focused on cultural and political themes from abroad and the comparisons with the local societies.
Before the scandal, Rufus was known for his hunger for the truth. It was presumed that nothing can stop him from discovering the true nature of things now matter how unpleasant or secret they were. If he wanted to find an answer to something, he eventually would. He was also involved with several police investigation for his research capabilities. Some people therefore speculate, that the scandal was artificially made in order to divert attention from him and to hide a completely different story in development.
