Drislan

The world is vibrant and full of wonder. Nations have risen up to take their places on the continents and islands scattered in the center of the vast, endless ocean. People live their lives, build cultures and monuments to heroes that came before. They've forgotten what preceded the heroes.   The Cataclysm shaped Drislan as it is today, in the Second Eon. The story follows the Protector-Kind: the Elites. Each one of these demi-gods have a specific power enabled to them (their Aspect). They shape the world from behind the curtain, as the world has forgotten they exist. Above, in the clouds, lies Atherius. The Zealots work in shadows to undermine the control the Elites' leverage. The floating continent shifts and distorts as the winds change.   [[ Perhaps you wish to know yourself what came before. Perhaps even what comes after. There will be time for that, certainly, but for now simply focus your mind on the present day - the medievalesque land tinged with dark forces and geopolitical strife. It is a time of grand tapestries with fraying edges. Imagine if the mythical gods of ancient times - flawed as they are - lived among the humans of the world. What kind of mischief might they enact? What kind of horrors would they allow? ]]   The Trigods - the Blessed Three - watch over the world and receive worship from some, though the Elites forsook that long ago. Their connection has been broken - an act that resulted in Paradise being lost. Now all souls go to the Void when they die. It lies below - farther down beneath the earth than Atherius is above the sky. No one escapes the Void.   Our story follows Sarkuum, an Elite of the Second Eon. Our tale lasts hundreds, maybe thousands of years as Drislan grows and molds into new things. We find ourselves in the grand city of Cadiz, the seat of the Caedan Empire.
