Being the original denizens of The Hopeless Sands they had a massive empire that spanned the entire desert, sandstorms often reveal vast abandoned cities of these long forgotten people.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humanoid with bat features, its arms are of normal length but with massive fingers that spread off with a thin membrane in between them that make up a wingspan of around 12 feet.

Biological Traits

80 year life span, 60 year life expectancy, Medium sized generally around 7ft tall with an average wingspan of 12ft, generally weigh around 80 pounds. Their fur comes in white with red tufts, pure white, white with black tufts, pure black, black with white tufts, and black with orange tufts. Very rarely there are fully red and fully orange Chiros. Since their hands have been devoted to flying they have evolved opposable feet which is what they use foor almost everything.

Genetics and Reproduction

Sex, they can store the sperm of their mate in them indefinitely until they are ready to bear child. they also can control the length of their pregnancies with a minimum of 5 months.

Growth Rate & Stages

From birth it takes only four years to mature. They gain the ability to fly around the one year mark, they learn to speak at around the same time. They can live up to be around Eighty years of age. They generally lose the ability to fly and breed in their late sixties.

Ecology and Habitats

The caves of the many steep cliffs of The Hopeless Sands, they however branched out and colonized the entire desert afterwards.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are vegetarians and mainly live off of the many types of cave fungus and cacti fruits found throughout the desert. They quickly learned how to farm these fungi are are the first known race to learn how to be self sustaining.

They prefer to give birth in the spring, when the rains come, so the child will have the highest chance of survival.

Both hold equal power but deal with separate matters the men with logistic and social needs and the women with military and practical needs. When something that requires both matters is brought up the speakers of both houses meet and settle on a solution, this can weeks to finish.
They worshiped Anubis The Caretaker of The Dead, Sol The Creator, and Helios The Eternal Flame. Massive statues of each god were erected throughout the sands but all have been lost to time.

The men are slightly smaller on average and generally stay out of the physical workforce they are the scholars and the artists of the race whereas the women who are slightly larger on average are seen as the one who work trades and the warriors. A lover of either gender will generally compose an original song for whoever they are trying to court, if they lover is enamored by it they will sing it back to their lover to show that their display was appreciated, this is how most relationships start.

Ares-The First Saint of The Chiro- he was the Man who freed the Chiro from an awful monarchy and led them from the caves and into the light, he defeated the great purple worm in combat, and blesses all of those who seek to stop gluttons and help the needy.
