Dragons of Voltron AU

Over two centuries ago, Emperor Zarkon struck down the Paladins, the only army able to stand against his conquests. The Paladins were a neutral organization of dragon riders from all backgrounds, dedicated to maintaining peace between the kingdoms of the land. Their destruction marked the beginning of an era of war. In the ensuing chaos, Princess Allura of Altea, along with her adviser Coran, managed to save three eggs. It is eventually revealed a fourth egg is in Zarkon’s possession. A plan is made to rescue the egg, and after a harrowing imprisonment Captain Shiro is able to steal it. These four eggs - red, green, blue, and gold - are kept safely within the Castle of Lions, the final haven against the advances of Zarkon’s army, until they are able to hatch for a new generation of riders, riders that will be tasked with saving the known world from tyranny.

This story is more or less a fantasy retelling of Voltron: Legendary Defender that follows the general throughline of the plot without sticking strictly to the details. It is a dragon rider alternate universe based loosely on the events of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Elements of the Legend of Zelda have also made their way into the story and setting, but these mostly serve the aesthetic and themes with little effect on the progression of the plot.
