Dragonlands

The old world is facing an unprecedented blight causing famine across all the nations. The famine is causing unrest and political upheaval across the continent.   A recent scientific discovery called a compass has allowed for exploration of the seas in search of new lands. New lands that might allow for the migration of the countless displaced citizens fleeing starvation and predation. New lands that might provide trade in food and wealth that may stem the current chaos.   The first land discovered has been called the Daragonlands because dragons, which have long been extinct in old world have been seen flying in the skies over the new land.   The Middle Realm was the first nation to send explorers to these new lands. They have discovered races of people called the dragonborn that swear allegiance to a powerful dragon named Tudyk. Tudyk has allowed the encroachment of the old worlders in exchange for an annual tribute and a promise not to harm his "children", the semi-nomadic tribes calling themselves the Tudykin.
