The Forester-Veren Unification Treaty

I watched my king sign the tattered parchment. The war had finally ended. The ceremony was in an open field near the Forests of our homeland. The wide open space providing an extensive amount of anxiety to the humans in attendance. A feeling compounded by the legion of centaurs standing in perfect ranks across the field. The planes were inhospitable for so long, the subtle terror was natural.   We had fought the centaurs into a stalemate. The war dragged on far enough that we forced them to resend their edict of execution, and grant us citizenship in their empire. Unfortunately, there was no other way. My blood boils that my human brothers and sisters have to pay any homage to these half beasts, and their mountain dwelling allies. They had razed towns, stolen our families, and destroyed much of our precious forest. They paid the price, but we could not up the ante. We had lost. It was useless pretending otherwise. If Veren had known how close we were to extinction, I doubt the war would have ended in a peace treaty. Thus we sacrifice freedom for survival, at a terrible price.

Purpose

The document was a peace treaty, promising the integration of the Forrester Kingdoms into the Veren Republic. The document ended a bloody two decade war between the Humans, Centaur, and Dwarves forming the first cohesive Veren State.

Historical Details

History

The document saw the rise of the Veren empire as we know it today. The humans, providing a large amount of cheap labor, and advanced agricultural methods, allowed the Veren to fuel their conquests. The document also brought humanity to worship Sol Invictus. The terms in the treaty subjugated the humans, and much of the oppression they face in modern Veren is a direct result of the concessions in this treaty.
