"The Book Of Blackest Night"
This is a medium sized, rectangular book with its cover and pages made out of a strange, infernal material. The cover is pitch black and has a slight velvety texture to it. There are no depictions or writing of any kind on its surface. Inside, the pages are also a pitch black color and seem to made of some unknown type of skin. The pages also have no visible writing or words upon them.
When in the presence of a Black Flame Candle, the light illuminates a harsh, dripping script written upon the pages. Although the pages remain black, the newly revealed script appears to be of an even darker ink.
Purpose
This book is rumored to have been written by a demon possessed necromancer known only as “The Dark One”. It was created for the purpose of creating or summoning various evil horrors, wraiths, and demons to aid its owner in eliminating targets, subjugating the population, and taking over the lands.
Historical Details
History
The Book Of Blackest Night is believed to have been, at various times, in possession of the necromancer, Arkham Null, the sorcerer Somni Balakav, the dark elf Noxxor Nightshriek, the evil witch Izmalla Fellz, and originally by the being known as “The Dark One”. Its current whereabouts is unknown.
Public Reaction
The general public is unaware of the book's existence. Only higher level magic users, wizards, sorcerers, and witches have heard rumors of it's existence.
Legacy
If the stories are to be believed, then the book has been partially or even wholly responsible for the raising of The Skeleton Horde, the enslavement of the city of Dormire, the destruction of the Drow city of Venenum, the creation of Gnarlwood, and the corruption of the Brightstar Paladins.
