Ordis Magicae/Collegium Magicae
The Ordis Magicae is the primary organization that governs magic in the realms. The council sits atop their spire while creating the laws and regulations that governs magic and it's uses. Along with the council of mages the Ordis Magicae keeps a large archive and library of magic within the spire, those that work within keep the knowledge from the clutches of those that would use it for evil or wage war.
There is a vast variety of magical and alchemical arts being performed within the Ordis Magicae. The various magic users that reside within the spire mostly research the secrets of magic and alchemy while inventing new magics and enchanted items.
Whilst the Ordis Magicae is quite secretive with its most powerful arts, at the bottom of the spire there exists a college of magic. The Collegium Magicae. The college of magic as it is more commonly known is responsible for taking in new wizards, sorcerers and warlocks to teach them the knowledge they need to control their powers. They also provide general education to those who wish to recieve it.
When someone becomes an initiate they first enter the college for evaluation. If an inititate is deemed learned enough they are entered into the lower spire of the Ordis Magicae where they can further develop their skills. If an initiate requires education they will be taught basic forms of magic and other required knowledge. Once an initiate begins his term in the tower itself they are given the opportunity to gain further knowledge and rise in rank along the spire floors. The more knowledgeable a magic user becomes the higher they will rise in the tower.
Structure
In the order of magic itself you would raise in rank based on how much knowledge and skill you have in magic, the more you have the higher you rise. Among the ranks you have apprentice, initiate, adept, master, sage and finally archmage.
The council of mages leads the order concisting of four sages and the archmage. They decide what rules govern the uses of magic along with how newer generations of magic users learn the arts.
Public Agenda
The order tries to keep balance in how magic is used across the world. They make sure that magic isn't abused while keeping the most dangerous of teachings secret.
