From the Eye of Rhammah
From Persistance
This is the story of the beginning as told by the oldest stories known by the most ancient of the Stonemen. Erratic and strange as the minds of such old stonemen are, these stories are rather consistent across the board. It is the opinion of many of these old shamans that we are simply a dream within a dream, and an eye within an eye - and we act as if we are simply the imaginations of a child god.
Summary
In the beginning, the Aether persisted.
Within the Aether, Rhammah persists - void of time, void of space.
Rhammah is great, as great as the Aether, greater than the known, and greater still than the unknown.
Rhammah moves, and through movement - the Aether folds.
His great movements birth great power, and the Elder gods persist from it.
His minor movements birth minor power, and the Constituents form from it.
Power means little in the breadth of the Aether, and as such the gods and Constituents float as though dust within a mist within a stray ray of light.
They glide and wander through persistence, and the Elder gods, tired of their wispful nature, questioned how to change their ways.
Tehtethia thought and thought, and through her mind, time began to flow - growing with brightness.
As such, Tehtethia became the Goddess of Time and Light - she who all things flow through and to which all things are illuminated.
The Elder gods rejoiced at the prospect, washed out of persistence and into the Construct.
Within the Construct, many things did happen.
The gods and the Constituents floated no more, grasping and falling into the ocean of Rhammah's Eye, invisible and unknowing to him..
Within his eye was where the first realms were created.
Many of the unknown gods formed their realms, scattered across the Construct - becoming heavenly forms and stars reaching out into the infinite.
The First was Liren, giving the Construct oceans and seas
and built his realm of depth and beauty.
Tehtethia was enraptured, seeing her reflection upon the water’s surface and looking into its depths, seeing its darkness - so different from herself.
Tehtethia took Liren unto herself, and from that Anata was born.
As such, Liren became the God of Dark, Depth, and the Sea - he who creates balance, beauty, and knows its depths.
Don'uth saw this union, and became jealous.
From his jealousy and greed, he stole Anata.
Tehtethia and Liren were distraught and angered, and revenge was called for
a meeting made from all gods across the Construct.
They hunted across the infinite for Don'uth.
Cornered in darkness, at the edge of the Construct - they were found.
Liren rose to strike down Don'uth for his crime, only to stopped by Anata.
Anata pleaded for his forgiveness, showing them a new wonder- her child, Inti.
Liren became awestruck, but Tehtethia was not so blinded.
She would not forget the crime that was committed upon her and her kin, and judgement was passed unto Don'uth.
She declared she would watch over the child with Liren,
But he must bear Inti and Anata in his eye until the End of all things
a reflection of the Construct within the Eye of Rhamma.
With this, Don'uth would be blind to all but the Inti and Anata,
forever to be watchful and to protect those within - and to contemplate the End.
As such, Don'uth became the God of the End and the Protector - he who sees all and knows its end.
Anata was placed into her new home, but lacked many things.
She first beseeched her mother, Tehtethia.
She asked for her to see her child while she layed a bed for it.
Tehtethia watches - and this becomes day, warmth and light upon the child's face.
The gaze of Tehtethia became too much too soon though, and the child began to burn.
Panicked, she turned the child to Liren, who quickly wrapped the child in soothing darkness and the coolness of the Ocean, and this became night.
Before long, the child became too cold.
He turned the child back to Tehtethia, and as such the Cycle came to be.
Anata took her child and laid it upon the bed she made from parts of herself -
And this became the Earth.
She wrapped the Earth with the Oceans of her father,
And warmed the Earth with the light of her mother - as she rocked her child for the first time.
And from this the World and Seasons were formed.
Soon, Inti slept.
As he slept, he dreamed -
And as he dreamed, he broke apart into many pieces, and became the Soul.
Anata watched lovingly; and from the Earth and Oceans,
Moulded vessels for the for each piece of Inti to live and act in,
And thus the Living were brought forth.
As such, Anata became the Goddess of Life, and the Mother - she who shaped and made all things within the world, and loves them.
Historical Basis
This is one of the oldest known stories about the beginning, told by the oldest people available. Passed by word of mouth thorugh generations, it's truths are unsure at best. But if you ask the gods, they will always tell you the same - Yes. Of course, they have a habit of doing that with most of the old myths, sometimes saying "No". The only issue, and they try to clarify as they might, the nature of such things is not so easily told, and its truths not so easily fathomed.
Spread
This myth is primarily spread by word of mouth as stories, and sometimes by dance and theatre. It is an ancient and common thing to be discussed and told be the ancient shamans and priests of the Stonemen tribes.
Variations & Mutation
There are many mutations of this myth, the most notable is the telling by the Gemling and Hornkin people. These stories are altered as such to place their kind in a far more important role in the cosmos, and most alterations of the Beginning tend to focus around that. Note that this story is not always accepted or told as the true "Beginning".
