Artemis Arrow
An Artemis Arrow is a symbol for a secret group of hunters and assassin's from the Forest of Kord. The symbol is a single arrow with green fetching, 3 triangles on each side, attached to an arrowhead with a rounded back, tied with a leather strip. The knot in the leather strip is tied such that the symbol for infinity can be seen along the shaft. Carved in to the arrowhead is a stag. When the arrow is made instead of drawn, you can find a hunting dog on the opposing side of the arrow head.
Significance
Artemis's Arrow is a rare site, but worrisome for those that know its meaning. Used by a small group of deadly assassins, they will use the arrow and there own combination of knots and symbols to communicate with each other when they are hunting in an area. Often, wherever the arrow appears, someone dies soon thereafter.
Though less impressive than a crafted arrow, depictions of An Artemis Arrow can hold large meaning all their own. With number of knots, chips in the arrowhead, the direction the arrow points, and dozens of other small details relaying large amounts of information to the keen eyed investigator.
Raw materials & Components
When crafting an Artemis Arrow rather than drawing it, it will always have a hidden message in its intricacies, as such, no two are identical. Some components are the same for each arrow though. The arrowhead is made of photium, the shaft made of bone, the fletching from a bird of prey.
Tools
When crafting an Artemis Arrow for ritual purposes, all but the arrowhead must be handcrafted, without magic, and only the use of a photium pocket knife. Arrow heads for ceremonial arrows are crafted by a master photium craftsman, painstakingly engraved with the symbols of the goddess.
