Idel

Idel is a Devic bard from Astrid who is known for his incredible operatic compositions.


Born in the middle of The Age of Order, Idel is the son and disciple of two prominent Devic composers, Vobim the Volumous and Keshem the Crescendo, known throughout Nirvania for their contributions to the Sounds and Lights movement of Devic music. Idel was told that he was born for greatness not only by his family, but by everyone around him. Though Idel had a talent for singing, his lacking compositional skills only showed up with the arrival of his sister.

Idel's youth was carefree up until the birth of his sister. Ila. Ila was a virtuoso, with an amazing talent for writing compositions similar, yet unique to those of her parents. At the young age of 450 years old Ila composed her first Master Work, a piece titled "The Fall of the Scaled Titans" a string and horns work that beautifully illustrated the death of the Great Dragons during The Era of Establishment.

At 772 years old, Idel was still just a performer while his sister already composed her Master Work. Reaching the middle of his first life, he was worried that his sister would outshine him forever so he did what no Deva had ever done previously; he traveled south of Nirvania and attended the Glenarm Bardic College in the continent of Midvail. At the Bardic College, Idel was a star student, excelling in every corse he took, despite piling on every single possible course he could take as a Lore Bard. He graduated from the school in 5 years, then took every course again, extending his time at the school by double.
During his time in Midvail, Idel studied the origin mythologies of the Dwarves, Humans, Elves, and Orcs and even sent for the origin myths (treated as facts) of the Deva, cross-checking with all of them and finding interesting, substantial similarities between a few. Like a lightning bolt, an idea hit Idel as he spent his last years at the Bardic college writing what he believed would be his Master Work, a piece 'The Cosmic Romance.'
After finishing The Cosmic Romance, Idel returned to Nirvania and submitted The Cosmic Romance to The Will of the Stars in Eternia. Idel waited in the city of Fareway for 2 decades before getting his approval from the Will. Immediately after receiving his approval, Idel was contacted by numerous Devic nobles as well as the Solar Revolution and Lunar Regime radical groups for attention and support. Idel ignored all of this added attention and focused only on preparing for his premier. After preparing, Idel traveled north to Sun and Moon Lake to premier The Cosmic Romance for The Eclipse Opera.
