AAR #1 - Jan. 1, 110 PA

General Summary

0100 Hours

Receiving a mission to escort two "Skidders" to the coming AO (Area of Operation LCpl. Lang, Pfc. McCain, and two Glitter Girls from Gore's Girls all joined the four pilots of Queen Squadron and took the long ride. At 0430 hours they were attacked by ten vampires and they hurled them out of the doors but lost two Glitter Girls from Gore's Girls and two pilots while also destroying a ship of bandits.   Touching down at 0505 hours, LCpl. Lang crested a ridge south and met a small patrol of Coalition scouts. They started a fight and he ended it, taking their gear. After clearing off the team, he spotted a Spider Skull Walker cresting the ridge to his east at 0730 hours. He then distracted the crew but it fired four shots into the air and three Sky Cycles arrived. As they rushed him, he had to fight and managed to destroy all three Sky Cycles. He returned to Queen Squadron at 0745 hours.

0400 Hours

Cyber-Knight Cpl. Talos Amacitia was ordered by Commander Drexl to secure the far side of the portal soon to be used for an invasion by Easy Company. After an hour on the other side, the team very nearly escaped death holding off a horde of giant spiders. Though Amacitia's special team claimed victory, as the attached Heavy Bolter gunner let loose hell, it was not without the need to fallback and regroup. By 0500 hours, they only hoped that the invasion would arrive sooner.

0745 Hours

Back with Queen Squadron, LCpl. Lang located a dragon egg and was with it when it awoke. Having met Asli, they agreed to work together and responded to an approaching electronic signal. Fighting a Spider Skull Walker LCpl. Lang was able to disable its left railgun and damage it before being taken out by its remaining railgun. The dragon hatchling Asli was then eliminated by the railgun and then, after killing several of the patrol squad with the vehicle, so was Pfc. Roy.

0800 Hours

On the mark, Dog Squad was readied before the Stellar Gateway. With a few changes among their rank, Tiberius being placed in command of Fireteam Two per Drexl's orders and Cromwell from Charlie being attached to the squad, they stood ready for an invasion. The squad were sent forth and linked up with Cpl. Talos' security team on the far side of the portal. Dog Squad's Sgt. Summers ordered Fireteam One and Two to secure the cave ahead and they did so by 0820 hours. Pushing out of the cave, with the research facility in sight, Fireteams One and Two met contact as they scouted the facility and fought a scouting patrol of Coalition forces, one Trooper from Fireteam Two was lost. As Charlie Squad was sent through the portal to reinforce, Sgt. Summers pushed the troops forth and moved to take the research facility. Come 0846 Hours the assault on the facility was launched as the other squads moved into position, mortar fire immediately rained in as a response from the enemy and began to shell Baker and Charlie squads. Sustained the in the fight were multiple injuries and the death of Dog Squad's Special Team leader. Tiberius lead Cromwell and two Troopers in capturing the rest of the facility as the rest of the company filtered in.

0900 Hours

Just after 0900 hours Commander Drexl informed Queen Squadron, who's LLg. Fallcrest had used old world tech to stabilize and heal Lang and Asli, that the research facility was taken. He told them that a push was going to be made by 1st Platoon to take the facility and, once they landed, recruited the dragon woman as a Cadet; whilst she was in her human form, offering standard pay that would go toward a cave with gold near Castle Refuge. The pair then fell out to regroup with Charlie Squad as a cache of weapons and ammo worth 4,174,000 credits was added to the facility's storage.

Commander Drexl's Briefing

In a briefing room at Castle Refuge, Commander Drexl gathered the leadership of Easy Company and set forth an invasion plan to take place at 0800 hours on Jan. 1, 110 PA.   "Greetings ladies, gentlemen, and all creatures in between. For those of you who have not paid attention to your hierarchy of command, I am Commander Drexl. The upcoming mission falls under the responsibility of my command and I am assigning it to Easy Company. As you are likely aware, Eastern Cohort's area of operation runs right up to The Wall, what was once known as the Appalachian mountains."   "However," the stern commander from Arkansas continued, "you will not travel there overland. Due to recent discoveries, we will be able to send you to your AO directly."   "Being command elements, I expect you all to be able to fill in your subordinates with the following information as is pertinent to your troops. The special guest here," he says as he motions to a muscled, blond, cybernetically enhanced man nearby, "will fill you in on the details of our mission before I run you through the invasion plan."   The commander stepped aside and stood at ease as the augmented guest took the podium. "I am Feonhorn of Asgard. My legend is ancient and forgotten but some of my story is known to a few of you. I served as what has become a distorted legend. I was, what the Glitter Boy's call, a Neeman. In actuality, I served amongst the N.E.M.A.; what was formerly and formally known as the Northern Eagle Military Alliance. But that only earns me credit amongst the Glitter Boys."   Leaning upon the podium he continued, stern and serious, "I am now among the ranks of the Tomorrow Legion as one of your special Legionnaires. So, if I am sufficiently qualified, I can tell you that I have been where you are going."   Standing up straight, the plight of remembrance fell over his face as he looked off to the side. "Some time ago, several centuries in fact, I visited the facility you are about to capture. I can confirm that what is contained within serves as Earth's best chance for survival. It was a walled compound, several levels in height and it was very poorly guarded in those days but that is likely not the case anymore. I do not know what could have taken the facility or if it is there but there is an AI that I am aware of that had an interest and could have substantially reinforced the facility and, out of need, has left what it contains intact. We will need to continue the facility's research and locate, somewhere in the valley beyond, the vault that contains the codes we need to restore the secret within the research facility.   "Over the centuries," he continued as he leaned once more upon the podium and looked to those before him, "many have fought and died for what is contained in the facility and more have likely done so to gain what is within but now, we stand ready to succeed."   As he stands and marginally turns toward his seat Legionnaire Feonhorn finishes by adding, "it may be necessary to fight to the last man for this, die if necessary, but it is worth doing. I promise before you all, I am willing to do the same."   Commander Drexl took the stand once more and then began his invasion briefing thusly, "alright Easy Company listen up."   He told Easy Company that they were going to be sent through a Stellar Gateway to a portal known as a Far Gate. That Dog Squad would have point on the attack and that the attack would serve as a beachhead for the rest of the valley's invasion. He informed the Troopers that as the initial assault was under way, Charlie Squad would reinforce them and establish a perimeter outside of the research facility and that soon there after, Baker Squad would move to secure the larger area as Able defended to gate for the rest of the company. He informed the troops that after a follow up assault, command would be turned back over to company commander Captain Kilroy. He informed the troops then that whom ever they found on the far side of the gate, should the be hostile, they were cleared to eliminate them.   Stern and respectful of those before him, Drexl finished by adding, "I have every confidence in Easy Company, in each and every one of you, and in the good you hold within your hearts. Each and every being here stands together in our mission to defend all sentient life from the evils that would seek to do them harm and in a such a moral mission, we cannot fail. Go forth Easy Company and fight hard."
