Dierde The land of Adventure, until the dragon wakes.

Dierde is loosely based on the same world of Forgotten Realms, and there is a canonical reason for this.
The World has a very dark secret and many factions are in a race to seek the ultimate powers on this planet as it is full of adventures. Various intelligent creatures have created their own grand and powerful societies and cities, but with an extremely long history -- mostly unknown -- the world is full of possibilities and secrets.
It is an Earth-like planet with many real-world influences. Unlike Earth, the lands of are not all ruled by the human race: the planet is shared by humans, dwarves, elves, goblins, orcs, and other peoples and creatures. Technologically, the world is not nearly as advanced as that of Earth; in this respect, it resembles the pre-industrial Earth of the 13th or 14th century. However, the presence of magic provides an additional element of power to the societies. There are several nation states and many independent cities, with loose alliances being formed for defense or conquest. Trade is performed by ship or horse-drawn vehicle, and manufacturing is based upon cottage industry.

I really do try to make most of this original, but since Forgotten Realms is an integral part of the world I can't help if anything is used without formal permission, but is still "fair use" as I am just using this for my private games.
