Two suns dance over Didyma, a world that never experiences night. The shattered remains of a once united empire fight for dominance and to restore the former imperial glory. But a cosmic malevolence waits in the shadows to bring eternal chaos, darkness, and death.
A long-dead emperor casts a disputed shadow on the world. Having dominated the world, he is an inspired leader according to some, a ruthless conqueror according to others. All agree, however, that his death was mysterious indeed, and no one knows what terrible secret he carried to his grave. Some say he now rules as a god on high, guiding the destinies of the subjects of his once glorious empire. Some say he will return as a demon to erase all trace of non-human life from the world. Others seek to know the objects of his research and the terrors of his nightmares.
Five powerful factions now war to inherit his legacy, and at the head of those factions, supreme monarchs scheme and plot against each other with assassins, armies, and sinister magic. They employ soldiers to gobble up territory, assassins to eliminate rivals, and thieves to recover powerful artifacts among the ruins of an ancient High Elf kingdoms.
But the clock is ticking. When its work is done, the brooding evil beyond the horizon may not even leave anything for petty warlords to squabble over.
