Darsian religons

Darsianism is the umbrella name for religions that worship Darsarth, the God of Time.

History

Darians were born from the original schism in the Geminian religion that occurred around the first Realmwar. As the religions diverged more and more from the Vaëlian religions and also became in eastern mainland Andellion associated with Daantite enemies, they became reviled and hunted by the Vaëlians. This led to more and more extreme views in Darsianism that Vaëlddra was the spawn of evil.

Mythology & Lore

The Revanagör is the tome in which are collected all of the founding myths, tenets of faith and codes of conduct which all Darian religions and sects hold in common. The central myths include recounts of the Creation, of the Age of Gods and the Wars of Divinity, which are inherited but adapted from the ancient Geminian religion. For example, Darsarth, the God of Time is viewed as being the benevolent spawn of Good, while Vaëlddra is the spawn of Evil and seeks to destroy the balance that Darsarth is tasked with keeping through war, dissent and corruption. Vaëlddra and her minions replace the Eharg from the original Geminian myths.

Worship

Darsarth is not a God that demands worship, on the contrary to Vaëlddra.

Priesthood

One must usually first find the brothers and pass the trials. Usually the members are male, but since they tend to believe in equality there is a fair representation of women in the sect as well.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Cultures influenced by the Darsians, such as certain countries in Western Andellion and most of the Daante Empire usually end up prizing order, intellectual achievements and scientific advancement,. They can be adverse to anything related to Vaëlddra, including the colour gold (preferring silver or white), and usually concepts such as honour are considered to be foolish. These cultures have a tendency of prizing cold, hard logic over passion, and also tend to favour wit over brute strength. They also tend to either try to apply concepts of social justice and equality (in the case of Aquildia) or will at least provide a standardized quality of life to their people (in the case of Kerdaate, which also seeks to provide equal opportunities to all so that those who can rise above the others have the opportunities to do so). As a summary, depending on the branch of Darsian which influenced the country, they can be anything from egalitarian to meritocratic.
