Reign of Dragons

Uknown Duration
An era that predates all of recorded history. It is believed that Dragons once ruled over the world of Diamat and were vastly responsible for the creation of most beings.

Arcanum Age

Duration: Around 1000 years
Otherwise known as the golden age of magic. A long period of peace in the world when an alliance of the most powerful nations at the time brought an end to all wars and famine. This alliance came to be known as the great Netherese Empire under the rule of Karsus the Archmage Supreme.
Under his guidance, the empire's consortium of mages developed most of the spells documented and practiced throughout the world today. Karsus himself led the research of new powerful but dangerous spells. It if believed that the casting of one such spell, categorized as the first level 12th spell in history, lead to the calamity known as "The Last Spell" nearly destroying all life on Diamat.

Tenebris Night

Post Last Spell: 001-240 PLS
A period of time following the casting of "The Last Spell". Arcane storms engulfed the skies throughout the the world opening rifts into a place of unknown magic and monstrous creatures. All known magic seized to work for nearly a century as the ecology and climate of the planet evolved and persistent earthquakes reshaped the very continent.
Oceans and lakes froze over, forests withered and volcanic activity spread nearly a thousand miles in diameter across the lands that were once home to the Capitol of Netheril.

Age of Strife

240-740 PLS
Nearly two centuries following the Tenebris Night, the few mages that remained were able to untangle the weave. Magic was allowed to resume its natural flow granting mages the ability to push back the storms and slowly heal the land. During this time, survival was difficult as rift abominations still plagued the lands. It took nearly 100 years to stabilize regions large enough to safely begin rebuilding.

The Great Crusade

740-1200 PLS
The nation of Aldurukh was amongst the first to rebuild. Ruled by Ulthuan Veshaan, they lead the great crusade in an effort to find other survivors and hunt the remaining abominations of the rifts. During this effort, Ulthuan helped reestablish the nations of Mardeavor and Friguslya. Together they pushed back the storms across most of Diamat and reunited with the lost nation of Sorrudim. Unable to successfully push the storms past The Great Divide, they banded to build a great wall to divide the continent from the terrors of rifts. To cement their alliance, the formed the Empire of Veshaan under the leadership Ulthuan and the guidance of The Great Council which consists of the lords and lady of each nation.

The Age of Redemption

1200-Current PLS
The Veshaan Empire has begun to expand its nations across the southern continent. Its main focus is to find the means to fully heal the weave and put and end to the arcane storms once and for all. Military action supported by the aid of mercenary guilds across cities continue to prune the lands in an effort to slay the abominations that remain. Most of the northern continent remains unsettled with the exception of the recent emergence of Reidrekh in the Isles of Zepherim. This ally faction claims to belong to an underground empire unable to return or communicate with their king due to an artifact they posses losing its power. They seek an alliance with the Veshaan Empire to help each other bring back an age of peace across all of Diamat.
