Watchers of the Eternal
In contrast to their name the watchers of the Eternal can not actually see, their eyes having been cast in brass or bronze as the
last step of their initiation. Those that survive are bound to the citadel they call home, standing guard in groups of three
throughout the lower three levels of the brazen fortress. Though without eyes they have an uncanny ability to sense their
surroundings with immaculate detail and to tear asunder any foolhardy enough to try and gain entrance.
Should you somehow make it up to the fourth level you will be met with a more elite caste of warrior watchers. These watchers are rewarded for their prowess and experience with adornments of brass and bronze tattoos and scarring. Some have entire joints comprised of said metals. A fierce enemy these watchers would make if provoked by any desires that would set upon a normal man.
It is rumored that the seventh through ninth levels hold even deadlier watchers, watchers that have lived for many years beyond the normal lifespan of a man. These watchers, I've heard, have their metal eyes chiseled out till only the socket remains and in it's place a pristine gem is placed. Their bodies show barely a peek of unadorned flesh. The stories say that no watcher from the upper tiers has been seen outside the citadel in hundreds of years, not since the time of the awakening.
There is no way to approach this place unnoticed as a sea of crusted and scorched tundra extends for as far as the eye can see in all directions and the sun burns seemingly brighter and hotter as the rays hit the shiny, smooth walls. Only an insane man would dare come within earshot of that place.
