Shelterwood

Shelterwood is a dark, deep and dense deciduous forest stretching over a hundred kilometers in south Darklands. The canopy of the trees is a continuous layer rarely letting light pass through it. The forest grounds is mostly covered by ferns and shrubs, with occasional glowing flowers breaking the darkness. Light grey stone ruins are often seen scattered around. Dead trees strangled by parasitic plants and other signs of ancient decay are a common sight. In rare small clearings where the light can reach the floor grass and flowers grow in abundance and mouseshroom habitats are often found nearby.
