Lore vision / lore writing
Lore is used to display information in the physical world via magic, in a glowing holographic-like manner.
Lore spells are one of the first spells a new magic user will learn. In its simplest form it's very low energy, low effort and non-elemental magic so it's easy to learn and use.
The most notable use of this is the entire sky used for Lore display in the Darklands called the Skylore, which is used as informational and announcement board as well as a navigational map. Because the ability to see can be used at will, this does not obstruct or clutter the sky view when not needed. This was enchanted so clouds and weather effects will not affect visibility.
Lore is often used for store fronts, advertisements and the like if the owners can afford and maintain it.
Lore vision
Lore vision is used to see Lore in the world. Normally a clear view is necessary and it cannot show through obstacles. Visually impaired people are sometimes also able to sense and to some extent read this magic as well, this is a lot more difficult than for people with normal vision and rather means understanding the information rather than seeing it visually. Magicless people can wear enchanted lenses or goggles that let them see it.
Lore writing
Simple and short duration lore-writing is very easy low-level magic and even kids learn it at a young age, these weak spells disappear in a few seconds or minutes. For extended display of a few days one may supply a larger amount of their magical power if they are capable of it, while for permanent display the spell needs a constant source of power. The larger scale the lore the more energy it will require to maintain.
Vandalism
Some people, especially younger demographics, like to use this technique to leave messages, insults or artworks around. When not obstructing anything these are ignored or even adored, but when drawn in high traffic paths or displays vulgar content it will be largely frowned upon, and in some cases guard action may be taken. Removing the lore is a simple task however, so no severe punishment is given.
Skylore
The sky over Darklands is covered by a large-scale lore spell; this lore is special in that it can be looked at even when clouds are obstructing the view. The center of this lore will always appear directly overhead the viewer, while the sun, stars and moons appear dimmed behind it. The middle of this lore is a 4 way compass, and on circular bands under it certain information may be visible, such as announcements, news, weather. This lore can display complex images but that is reserved to important messages only to save power consumption. The lore is run on stored magical power and needs frequent charging, it's owned and maintained by the royal family.
Lorendium
Lorendium is a handheld magical device developed in the Dark Lands about a century ago. It's usually referred to by it's version name by people.
The lorendium is a lore spell with long-range interactive update system that can be used for communication and streaming information, including news and entertainment.
New versions appear every 7-11 years on average when a new great improvement is invented. Some known versions are:
Lorendium Saxa, commonly referred to as Saxa, is an old outdated model used 20-25 years ago.
Lorendium Egenti, usually just called Eget or simply Eg, the currently used model.
Manifestation
The spell is opaque white with a faint blue glow around it. Despite this it can be clearly seen on the blue sky or in bright day, although it is much more pleasant on the eyes at night. Some skilled users can change it's color.
It will be affixed to the strongest center of gravity at creation (the planet, moon or other body the caster is on), unless specific measures are taken to bind it to an object. This makes so that the creation appears to be floating in place.
