The Chaotic Substrate is a completely unique particle that only operates under the mindsets of the Pneumatic Species.

Material Characteristics

ChStr's Physical characteristics are to be noted as like a somewhat viscous fluid when the Pneumatics aren't as concentrated, usually seen in a solid state. reflecting a very white color typically.

Physical & Chemical Properties

ChStr is its own form of particle, bearing this, it does not function like the matter that is commonplace in many other dimensions. Luckily though, this matter does share a weird property trait with the Humanities' dimensions concept of acidity. Chaotic Substrate has a sort of acidity, a spectrum with Chaos on one end and Control on the other. 
Chaos shares a common trope of acids and bases, melting away substances, except in this case, the substance destroys any currently observed and tested substance, with any uncontrolled substrate simply decaying over time.
Control on the other hand, is almost completely null with substances. Keeping the Pneumatics themselves in their humanoid shape. 
The Pneumatics themselves are the only known source of the controlled state. Any limbs cut off from the pneumatics not harboring a Pneumatic anymore, becomes a helpless mass of Chaotic Substrate. Important Note: Pneumatics, when under severe stress or acting with unnatural emotions, are at risk of reaching chaotic levels of ChStr. More tests may need to be completed before presentation and inauguration of the proposed defense group by Quetztake Yang. Compounds

Along with its strange Chaotic properties of being able to destroy every other substance known. ChStr also enrolls another unique property. When in a controlled state, the Pneumatic's are able to control their Substrate at will. They are able to rearrange the structure of the Substrate to the most finite detail, producing any substance the Pneumatics have substantial knowledge of. The Pneumatics when discovered, having the complete catalogue of the Humanities' Table of Elements, but not always compounds.
Tests conducted with some of the Pneumatics showed different levels of knowledge in chemistry between the Pneumatics, the most adept being Subject No. 02, Lax Name, Vanilla. 
Important Note: Any pneumatic subject with colored skin along with No.02 are to be observed carefully, they are known to carry higher levels of Controlled ChStr, allowing more control closer to chaotic levels, any attempts at escape should be met with a maximum-security team.

Geology & Geography

Chaotic Substrate is a component of the Pneumatics. As such, the Pneumatics home dimension is entirely made of the stuff. Their dimension is almost entirely a blank canvas which would be the best place ever encountered and perfect for settling by any Interdimensional Empire. Sadly, though like mentioned, the dimension itself is completely comprised of Chaotic Substrate, in its Chaotic state. Disintegrating any other particles like a pill in a glass of water. Thankfully though the Pneumatics themselves are typically not composed in their Chaotic state, meaning they can be interacted with, without the major risk of losing one's appendages.

Life & Expiration

Any limbs cut off from the pneumatics not harboring a Pneumatic anymore, becomes a helpless mass of Chaotic Substrate. This mass naturally deteriorates when not in contact with any Pneumatic, although when coming into contact the matter can be absorbed by a pneumatic and reinstated. Tests with splitting the material of one Pneumatic and reapplying it to another separate Pneumatic have been tested and have been proven and are thoroughly successful.
