Word among the common folk is they have done it for greater autonomy as Counties, those greedy and power-hungry gnomes. The Silver Coast has risen up in the 2nd Minan Rebellion, hoping to regain their independence. The First Council of the Elemental Archipelago have declared the 2nd Crusade, to restore the rights of the Churches within the Empire. Sensing blood in the water the Islands of Fire have declared war as well, likely to force the Empire to loosen trade restrictions upon them. There are enemies on all the Empire's sides. Well-known mercenaries are being hired by all factions to supplement their war efforts, sucking dry the normal supply the Department of Terror Detection relies on for work. This is of particular worry for the local DTD branch in Logoria, as there are many threats and potential threats that need to be kept in constant check. They have now begun offering contracts to anyone who looks like they could handle themselves in a sticky situation.
