The Order of the Ivory Scale
Structure
The hierarchy of the Order of the Ivory Seal is organized like a classic holy order with the highest position being known as "The Beacon" who is an appointed individual tasked with leading the group and directing the collective efforts of the organization towards a certain goal. Beneath the Beacon are two secondary titles known as "The Prism" and "The Mirror" whose duties are to organize parties to venture out and perform acts beneath the directive of the Beacon and to provide individual council and means for internal reflection within the group, respectively. All other members of the organization are known as "Radiants" who are tasked with following the directions of their superiors and operating under the tenants of The Ivory Seal.
Culture
Followers of the Order of the Ivory Seal believe in a true beauty of the natural world; more specifically, they wish to support the greater good through various means such as charity, encouraging others and supporting positive change and freedom. For this reason, the organization travels, often breaking off into smaller missonary groups.
Public Agenda
The overall goal of the Order is to foster universal harmony and improvement in the world by means of slaying those they believe to be denizens of evil and advocating for the elevation of the servants of good.
Demography and Population
The Order of the Ivory Scale is almost completely made up of white dragonborn of Clan Iisylkaalthough the Order is open to taking in new members if they are approved by the Beacon.
Territories
The Order of the Ivory Scale is a nomadic group and therefore do not occupy a specific location consistently.
Foreign Relations
The Order is generally viewed in a positive lens as a visit from a band of Radiants to a small village most likely means that the local beast or horror that had been plaguing the area will be dispatched or a cruel ruler possibly overthrown. Generally members of the Order of the Ivory Scale are revered as harbingers of good.
Tenets of Faith
- Faith. It is our duty to trust and believe that true good will always prevail, just as we trust that the light will return with each morning.
- Charity. Those blessed with more light should be a beacon to those in the dark, sharing their gifts freely.
- Change. Comparable to the way light bends and refracts, we must be willing to adapt to different environments and situations for the greater good.
- Freedom. Imprisonment is darkness, in this way we must liberate the hidden, be that through release or death.
