Swiyyan Tabaxi Ethnicity in Demis | World Anvil

Swiyyan Tabaxi (Swee-yen Tah-back-see)

Within the thickest parts of the jungles of Swiyya live the Swiyyan Tabaxi. Their short burnt umber fur with dark spots differentiate them from other Tabaxi in Ankroth. Thin and lanky, the Swyyian Tabaxi naturally are some of the fastest humanoids. You will rarely find a talkative Tabaxi, but especially within the Swiyyan culture. Listening to their surroundings is a trait all their young are taught as the jungles they live in can be as dangerous as they are bountiful.   Though they are well known throughout the continent, they are rarely found outside of their ancestral jungles. Creatures with strong familial bonds, they stick to their own and usually end up continuing their lineage within Swiyya.   Some established cities and towns exist throughout their territory but it is very common for a group to live consistently on the move. Since the jungle offers much to hunt and gather there was never a reason to set down roots. Until the time of the establishment of the main hub of Camp Trillium, many families never had a permanent home.   You may think that jungle dwelling creatures living in a more rudimentary society wouldn't have much to add to the world but within their jungles, they have cultivated one of the most popular luxury goods, Cacao. The Tabaxi people in charge of the cacao fields hold their secrets close to their chest. Most of the money and trade that comes to their towns and villages are due to the popularity of these beans.

Ideals

Courtship Ideals

Since their lives are shorter than most intelligent beings, the courting process is typically quick and passionate. It is not uncommon however for families to arrange marriages to grow their tribes.

Relationship Ideals

Swyyian Tabaxi mate for life. Once they find their partner, whether personally or by the choice of their tribe, they are incredibly loyal and depend on one another. It is rare for these Tabaxi to be promiscuous or break their relationships especially after having their first litter together as the next generation is always more important than their own.
