Polar Goliath Ethnicity in Demis | World Anvil

Polar Goliath

The continent of Strihia is one of barren taigas and snowy moutain ranges. Only the most resilient of beings can survive in such conditions, and none are more resilient than the Polar Goliaths. These nomadic people never stay in one place for long in order to survive, but that's not to say they don't claim territory. If you and your party venture to the white northern plains and mountains, expect to be approached and perhaps attacked by the local band.

Lords of the Silent Plains

The northeastern portion of Strihia is still the largest untamed and unrecorded areas in all of Demis. Barren in nature there is not much to be gained from settling in such a hostile and inhospitable part of the world. The climate is harsh, the resources are bare, and the creatures are deadly. There are not many that could withstand the challenges within the Silent Plains.   Among the harsh snow lives the Polar Goliaths, a quiet and sturdy folk. Like other Goliaths found around the world they stand out with their massive size and incredible strength. Lords over the wastelands, bands of the Polar Goliaths keep steady vigil over the lands they travel.   With limited food and resources they don't take kindly to those who may take from the Plains and in turn cause their people to suffer. Strangers are always watched and tracked, and even cut down in order to protect their claims.

Connection to Uztun'ana

Unlike many of the pantheons of the other continents, the denizens of Strihia tend to connect more with their gods. For the Polar Goliaths they show their piety to Uztun'ana, the Bear Goddess of the Snowwilds.
