Dodocles Anas

[Author's Note: Dodocles, after joining a secret society and becoming possessed by a demon in an effort to become strong, ultimately becomes the antagonist and tries to kill prince Eagaru Aquilla, and fellow tuuya (like a military cadet) after the demon proves unable to possess the prince.]   Name: Dodocles Anas   Age: 16   First PT Test:
3 mile run 40 yard Push ups Pull ups Sit ups

  Elemental Nature:
Fire Earth Air Water
40% 30% 23% 07%
Height: 5''2"   Eye color: A pale red   Physical appearance: He has pale red hair, that he's often picked on for, and caramel color skin. Though short, he's built like a sturdy tree still in its youth. He keeps his hair short to the point that he's nearly balled. He has a medium sized scar above his left eye from an ogaku match when, immediately after being taken to the ground, Khimari, a local boy and his opponent in the match, followed up the takedown with a massive forearm that ended the round. Dodocles was 14 at the time of the match, it was during the Days Deliverance (a solstice holiday lasting 4 days) tournament, the biggest of the year. Khimari would go on to win it.   Strange or unique physical attributes: He's very strong for a 16 year old (not super strength or anything like that, just the normal strength of the really strong guy) and well built, like a body builder.   Favorite clothing style/outfit: Never one to miss a trend, he copies his style off of the prince. Though of course his himation isn't blue, that's a color reserved to the Aquilla clan, and obviously he can't afford the jewelry, but his favorite himation, crimson red with a darker red pattern of stylized fireballs wrapped around his waist and one shoulder, the extra fabric is left to fall in folds from behind the shoulder. His sandals are well worn and of a simple style. Eye liner too is something that is beyond his station.   Where does he or she live? What is it like there? A small hamlet in the southern portion of the Koh's hinterland. One of the closest villages to the great Red Frog (a large wetland). Home to thirty-seven families, most of which are farmers who hold small estates. Though most here would be considered poor, with no one owning more than 2 strips (about 9 acres), and only few owning that. Dodocles's family is one of the poorest. His home is a one-room waddle and dabb building with a roof made of rows laid upon more rows of reeds. He shares it with his mother, younger sister, and, patron of the household, his maternal grandfather. His family grows mandrake and rude plant, as well as having a garden of gillyweed, batthorn, gurdyroot, and devil's snare, staples in Lukdunnite cuisine.   Defining gestures/movements (i.e., curling his or her lip when he or she speaks, always keeping his or her eyes on the ground, etc.): He tenses up when mad, the veins in his forearms bulge, the vein in his forehead pulses, and he even sometimes forgets to breath. He'll laugh mockingly when annoyed at what someone is saying before taking the offensive. He'll stand and flex, while verbally threatening the other person all in an effort to bully.   Things about his or her appearance he or she would most like to change: His height.   Speaking style (fast, talkative, monotone, etc.): He ums a lot and thinks cursing is cool. He curses even more when mad.   Pet peeves: Don't make fun of his mom, or his sister, or his hair, or him, or really just anything to do with him. He's a very serious guy.   Fondest memory: The last rude harvest before his father went off to war and never came back. It was the last time his family was whole, complete. His father had his orders, and unlike some, did his duty to Koh and the Heavenly Father Eagle. Yet his father didn't return. Of course deserters where exiled, but they chose to leave. His father was taken. He wasn't alive anymore. He didn't have the power to protect his family then, but now, or soon. He would powerful now that he was becoming a man.   Hobbies/interests: Like most boys his age he's interested in popular sports like rover, ogaku, and hunting. He also exercises a lot.   Special skills/abilities: He's exceptionally strong and reasonably athletic.   Insecurities: He fears he won't be able to protect his family. That he is not strong enough and never will be.   Thing he or she needs to learn: That he needs to relax and enjoy life, accept the music that the fates plays for him. Strength isn't everything, fighting can't solve all your problems.   Quirks/eccentricities: He's very aggressive and insecure.   Temperament (easygoing, easily angered, etc.): Over-aggressive in all things, he's easily offended .   Negative traits: He's over aggressive and quick to action, having never thought things through.   Things that upset him or her: Any instance where he's the butt of the joke will set him off. Equally, when playing sports or competing he can get frustrated quickly if he or his team is losing, especially as the defeat gets worse and worse.     Things that embarrass him or her: His poverty and lack of power.     This character is highly opinionated about: He's highly opinionated about sports and is very competitive. He's also very opinionated about the government, but knows enough to keep it to himself.   Any phobias? He's afraid he will end like his father did, a pawn easily robbed, used, and thrown away by its superiors.   Things that make him or her happy: Winning is what makes him the happiest, he enjoys any physical competition, especially ogaku. He loves festivals, and most of all the feasts that come with it. Summer is his favorite season, winter his least.   Family (describe): Most considered Dodocles' father to be a good man, though his temper and desire to fight when too drunk was equally well known. He was a short man, but a strong man and a former Ogaku Champion. Unfortunately he died in a skirmish, the battle of Panteru's Fields, that ended badly for Koh. Dodocles Sr was 30 at the time, a good 6 years after his owed military service had been completed, however, still suffering the effects of the previous war with Orinthia not even 3 years ago, one in which they lost, manpower was in short supply, and so he was called up to serve again. The battle occurred just after midday and involved no more than a Squadron of Koh's soldiers, though only have of that, two squads, were involved. The other two, making up the rear of the long-march formation (consisting of only two columns of soldiers) had yet to finish the roughly 5 mile march. Taking advantage of Koh's disarray with at most only 2 of their squads having taken up battle formations if even that, the Orinthians, having arrived early and so established position in the farmers fields, charged. All eye witnesses agree that it was Khimari's father, Master of the squad Dodocles' father belonged to, who upon seeing the Orinthian's charge, first turn and ran. Many others would follow his lead, leaving only a handful, Dodocles Sr being one of them, to stand like men, to fight and die like men. This second war with Orinthia, lasting only a year, turned out even worse then the first, costly in every way from loss of life to loss of land. Many battles ended in much the same fashion as this one making them quick to become largely forgotten, lost as stats. The sacrifices of men like Dodocles Sr were not to be rewarded, respected, nor least of all remembered. What Dodocles does remember of his father is that he was their protector and provider. That he was a strong, good man, that he cherished very much, misses very much, and emulates very much. His mother is pretty lady with a warm smile, kind eyes, brilliantly red, curly, hair ending just before her butt. She's thin and short, pleasant but easy to loose in a group, blendable and forgettable. His younger sister of 3 years, is much like her mom, but more out going and with a bit of her dad's notorious temper. His Grandfather is like an older version of his dad. He's short, and though old, is still very active and strong, even still works his own fields, of course with little in the way of wealth, he has little choice in this matter. He can be quick to anger and enjoys a good hard drink, which usually leads to him reminiscing about the good old days, his glory days. Each story, fittingly, seems to involve him getting into and winning a fight against a guy that was bigger than him. He's very proud of his late son and talks about him often.   Deepest, darkest secret: He honestly hates Khimari and his family, blaming his dad for the death of Dodocles' father.   Reason he or she kept this secret for so long: It's just not something you tell people.   Other people’s opinions of this character (What do people like about this character? What do they dislike about this character?): Some dislike him, some like him. Those that do like him cite his loyalty, that he's willing to do anything for the cause. Those who dislike often mention his hot head and tendency to behave like a bully.     Favorite bands/songs/type of music:     Favorite story: Dodocles likes any war/fighting story, especially when the hero is the underdog.   Favorite foods: Fire roasted uruk, just that, no veggies needed just meat. He mainly likes meat and only eats veggies and mana begrudgingly.   Favorite sports/sports teams: His favorite sport is ogaku, a type of martial art, that his father was a champion of at one point.   Political views: He's not political, but does feel the government is bad, robs, and even abuses the common people.   Religion/philosophy of life: He feels the world owes him, but is out to screw him..     Physical health: He's in good to average health for a 16 year old.   Dream vacation:     Description of his or her house: His house is a one room hut about 8 feet by 12 feet. It's made of waddle and dab and has a roof made of reeds. The inside is divided by wooden barriers into a sleeping area consisting of the southern ⅖ of the building, with the rest of the area being used as a kind of general purpose room. A place for meals to be both prepared and eaten. The floor is made of packed earth covered by straw that's changed regularly by Dodocles' mother.   Description of his or her bedroom: His room is roughly 4 and a half feet by 8 feet, and is shared by his mother, sister, and granddad.   Any pets? Dodocles has no pets and never has owned a pet. He wants a daemon though, but his grandad insists they can't afford one.   Best thing that has ever happened to this character: The one and only time he beat Khimari in an ogaku match, winning him the local summer solstice tournament within the node they live in. He was 14 then. Otherwise Khimari always wions them, even when older boys participated. It was a close match, both boys having a knockdown, that ultimately went to the judges decision, a split decision 3-2 in favor of Dodocles.   Worst thing that has ever happened to this character: The death of his father is easily the worse, most traumatic, life altering experience that the 16 year old young man has ever experienced to date.   Superstitions: Dodocles is as religious and superstitious as your average citizen of Koh, but certainly no more either. He doesn't really have an interest in religion, thinking little of such things.   Three words to describe this character: Angry, strong, and insecure are the best three words to describe him with.   If a song played every time this character walked into the room, what song would it be? Not sure exact song, but definitely something metal, maybe like Lamb of God or something along those lines.
