Deep magic

The basic idea of this world is that of a reverse urban fantasy. Rather than depicting traditional fantasy elements in a modern setting based on the real world. It is to depict modern real world concepts into a fantasy world. More broadly speaking, I wanted to create a fantasy world that wasn’t static and that evolved both socially and technologically like the real world. It is not an alternate history or alternate earth but is meant to have close parallels to the real world particularly in regards to the twentieth century. However, I also keep developing information on earlier time periods. For now my main focus in on the beginning of the twentieth century in this world’s equivalent of world war one

A very important principle in creating this world is keeping it as grounded as possible. For me, the most crucial part in any work of fiction particularly those which include any kind of fantasy or sci-fi element is that be created with a internally consistent logic wherever they don’t follow the laws of the real world. And I’m a big fan of the type YouTubers that like to overanalyze and dissect works of fiction As well as having a wide range of other interests. I will be drawing upon information from a number of different areas including geography history physics and others to make this world as believable as possible

A few disclaimers before reading on this is very much a work in progress and very much aware of my limitations as a writer. In particular, I am much better at coming up with technical information about technology and magic than I am at actual story or lore and I may be rather slow to update this project. Also, I am completely hopeless at coming up with proper names for anything. I hope everyone reading this will bear with me and be interested in reading about a world created by one overanalyzing nerd for the rest of them
