Deep Ellum

Long after the war, after nearly every human was wiped from existence, those who remained emerged from their shelters to attempt to build a new world. Without technology, and with much of the world's resources used up, humans found themselves reduced to the knowledge and tools they could easily gain from nature. While humanity has largely remained the same, shortly after their return from exile a very small number of them began to exhibit strange powers, always tied to natural forces. These people are known as Elementalists, or Ellum.   Over times, different tribes, cities and kingdoms slowly formed around these Ellum. The Ellum would use their power to provide protection and resources for the people, and in turn the people kept the Ellum safe and happy. Though the Ellum are extremely rare, when a new one is born, the family is expected to seek out an Ellum with similar powers to train them, so the student may one day take the teachers place.   There are many kingdoms in this world, but our story begins in Evergreen , a thriving village walled by trees and under the protection of (The Grass Pope), an Ellum with the power to control plant life. The Grass Pope has been training up Haven , a young Ellum, for nearly all of her 20 years, and now Haven is set to embark on her first journey outside of Evergreen, the last step in her apprenticeship as the regions next protector.   However, shortly before she sets off on this journey, there is an attack without warning from the East, the tribe over the mountains, who have shunned Ellum and instead worked to re-engineer humanities lost technologies. With the Grass Pope weakened by the attack and needed to protect the village, it's up to have Haven to lead Evergreens armies as they struggle to repel the invasion and discover its cause. Along the way, she'll meet new Ellum, grow her powers, command an ever-expanding army, and try to unravel an ever-deepening mystery.
