Dead Stars

The sun, and many stars across the universe, have all miraculously turned red.   These stars are coined as 'Dead Stars', named so for their appearance resembling a dying red giant. unlike these dying stars, a Dead Star's glow is so dim that the planets it neighbors is left in a perpetual shade of eerie red light. Life is also pushed to take strange forms beneath this light, taking on bizarre qualities, some of which thought to be things only found in fantasy.   Living organisms rapidly deteriorate into a valuable dust called 'Vitae' -- or 'Gleam'. Gleam, for the bright red shimmer it gives. Gleam can be used to prolong life, unlock psychic powers, and push those that utilize it into strange directions...Wildlife included.   While spacefaring is certainly possible, it is still limited in scope; most of the action takes place on a heavily urbanized Earth.
