Meeting with the Archwizard

Structure

Rising Action

Eventually they arrive at Denestone, where the Archwizard seems extremely frazzled and anxious. He is very hospitable towards them, however, and gives them all their own rooms in the castle, all in the same hall. They are allowed to explore the castle, and a few of the staff speak to them individually. Eventually, over dinner, he tells them that he will hire them to investigate and prevent the prophecy from coming true, and that he will reward them handsomely with whatever they like, be it money, or something else entirely. They agree, and he gives them their first mission; A few of his personal soldiers went missing at the Stone Gods, which is on the outskirts of the Grand Library of Maenland, and he wants them to find out what happened to them. He also encourages them to visit the Grand Library, to investigate the prophecy further.

Components

Goals

Alfred: Wants to be a famous hero! Working directly for the Archwizard seems to be a great way to get famous quickly, and do good things and help people!   Francis: Wants to travel in luxury, defeating bad guys and gaining renown throughout the Kingdom.   Arthur: Wants to get his ship back, and his patron tells him this is the best way to do it.   Gilbert: Wants the money to help pay for his brother's wedding. He is also ecstatic to be working for the crown.   Matthew: Wants to be noticed for once, out of the shadow of his brother.   Kiku: He says he's interested in the money, and his fancy clothes back up that claim. But somehow, that doesn't seem to be his actual goal here.   Lukas: Wants the money to provide for his family. And the leader of a country is rich, so of course it would pay well.
