Biography
Early Life
In the winter of 1885, a meteor crashed in a field owned by Johnathan and Martha Kent. They rescued a young boy appearing to be about one year old from the crash site, they had no idea what to think of the crash or the pod that young Clark had been found in. Johnathan had intended to take the boy into town to notify local authorities however before he could a grew snow storm struck the farmstead trapping the Kents alone on the farm. When the roads finally cleared months later the Kents had become extremely attached to the boy and decided to raise him as their own, claiming that Martha had given birth to Clark while they were snowed in.
While the majority of Clarks super powers did not begin to manifest until puberty the Kents recognized that Clark was not a normal child fairly quickly. His heightened senses, superior intellect, and extraordinary language skills became apparent almost immediately. As such, Clark was home schooled early on in order to try to continue to keep his abilities a secret, by the time he finished Primary School his other Kryptonian powers (Strength, Speed, Flight, Heat Vision, Cold Breath) had all begun to manifest however wanting to make sure that Clark received the best education he could they risked sending him to Secondary School. Forbidding Clark from engaging in sports and insisting that do everything he can to hide his powers, Clark gained a reputation for being wimpy geek. Superman successfully keeps his powers a secret throughout Secondary School with the only person who finds out being his girlfriend, Lana Lang.
Exploration of his Origins
After graduating valedictorian, Clark Kent receives a scholarship to attend Harvard University, being the first in his family to attend college. Lana Lang attends college at the University of Kansas, the two of them going their separate ways. While at Harvard University Clark Kent studies History and Journalism while continuing to avoid athletic activities, however hid become a member of the schools Cheer Leader Squad. While studying at University, Clark discovered evidence of regarding his origins, deciding after graduation to track down these leads with the hope that he could write a book on the subject and though it seemed far fetched, use the book to introduce himself and his abilities to the world.
Using his powers and keeping a low profile, Clark Kent traveled the world studying ancient ruins and tracking the origins of various world mythologies before his investigation finally led him to the city-state of Themyscira. After spending several days in Themyscira making very little progress Clark decided to attempt to sneak onto Paradise Island where legend had was the immortal Amazons and their God-queen ruled over Themyscira. While attempting to sneak onto the island he was discovered flying and was immediately believed to be a God by the Amazons. Once being welcomed onto the island he met with Hippolyta of Athens and Diana of Themyscira and learned that their identifying him as a god was not a wild superstition and that after performing a series of feats to demonstrate his abilities it was revealed to him that he was in fact a Kryptonian and that Kryptonians had posed as ancient pagan gods, and that Queen Diana was in fact Half-Kryptonian.
Clark went on to spend several years with the Amazons learning about their long and storied history, learning about his people and though she had initially greeted him with caution and suspicion the two slowly grew close finding comfort in mutual experiences as Kryptonians living among Humans. The two came to admire each other and to their surprise had child together, Cir-El. Several years later his relationship with Diana began to fall apart, they decided to break off the relationship and go their separate ways, though Clark continued his frequent visits to Themyscira to visit and help raise his daughter.
Clark continued to explore his origins frequently traveling around the world to hunt down leads, eventually discovering an abandoned Kryptonian Outpost in the Antarctic. It was here that Clark learned that he had been in possession of an AI Construct made to mimic his parents, they told him his birth name was Kal-El and taught him about the history of his people, why he had been abandoned on Earth, as well as gave him access to a vast database containing the entirety of Kryptonian knowledge. He used this information and the tools available at the outpost to begin upgrading the outpost and turning it into a proper home as well as a laboratory which he named his Fortress of Solitude.
Becoming Superman
In 1919, people around the world began reporting sightings of a man with incredible strength, speed, and the ability to fly arriving to their rescue, he would rarely stay long to talk, perhaps only to ensure everyone was alright before moving on. Metropolises Daily Planet was one of the first reputable news outlets to begin seriously reporting on the sightings, naming him Superman for his incredible abilities and the apparent S-symbol on his chest. After months of attempting to make contact with the unidentified man, Clark Kent finally arrived at the Daily Planet for an interview. He told them about his home world of Krypton, how he arrived on Earth, and how he decided he had kept his abilities hidden for too long, and was ready to start giving back to the only world, the only people, he's ever truly known.
Shortly after Clark Kent was contacted by Star Labs, also located in Metropolis with requests to study him. Clark agreed and as compensation for continued cooperation he was given a stipend and a penthouse in downtown Metropolis. As Clark does not need eat, drink, or sleep, and most of his needs were provided for by the Fortress of Solitude or the Amazons nearly all of the stipend was sent to his parents.
Appearance of Supergirl
In 1937, after a fight with her mother, Cir-El arrived on Clarks balcony requesting to stay with him. After discussing the issue with Diana the two agreed that Cir-El would live in Metropolis with Clark. Clark did what he could to keep his daughter out of the public eye however his celebrity status made doing so difficult, the daughter of Superman became quite the subject of the public's attention, especially since he had kept her existence hidden. While Cir-El rarely went looking for attention, she was also far less inclined to try to hide her abilities from the public than Clark was, this would occasionally lead to a minor public spectacle that Clark would have rather avoided.
World War II
With the outbreak of World War II in 1939, the Allies created a super-hero organization named the Justice Society and attempted to recruit Superman. This was the first time that Clark had been actively recruited to become involved in global political events. Realizing the power he wielded and what a dramatic impact he could have on world events Clark refused to participate and though greatly disturbed by what he saw, watched the war from afar, also forbidding Cir-El from participation, and though she disagreed with his reasoning, she respected his judgement and also did not get involved. When the war ended, Clark was asked if he'd been aware of the concentration camps, admitting that he had known, and did nothing, he explained his rational though few found his inaction acceptable and his popularity greatly declined. The public however was much more forgiving of Supergirl, as her reasons were simply obeying her fathers wishes. In the aftermath of World War II, Clark was swept up in the McCarthy hearings where he was further made an outcast, however his statements at the hearings and the effort of the US government to cast Superman as a communist made him an icon for progressives in Western Countries.
Arrival of Brainiac
After intercepting communications among the Green Lantern Corp. regarding two Kryptonians on Earth, Brainiac arrived in 1943.
