The Pulan People

In the northern reaches of the Kingdom of Fathia you can find a group people who call themselves the Pulan. These people live in the frozen tundras and live a hunting and gathering style of life. What makes these people stand out amongst other clans is that rather than being nomadic or building their own homes up there, they hunt to make a new house.
In these tundra's their lives a large turtle like creature. Nearly 12 feet to the Top of the shell these turtles are hunted by the Pulan people who then take the shells and use them as a hut shelter against the cold of this region. As cold blooded creature these turtles are a surprise to find here, yet their shell possesses the capacity to give off radiant heat gathered by the sun. This makes them great for houses as it provides shelter even in the darkest of months.
The Pulan people are additionally master navigators, spending months in the dark during the winter they have discovered how to navigate using the night sky. This ability they credit to Tugen, the god of the moons and stars.
Sustaining themselves off the land they thrive on fish from the ocean, the meat they are able to harvest from the turtles as well as what ever else they can catch. They find berries and other vegetables in the summer which they preserve to last until the winter when greens are sparse.
It is uncommon that they have interactions with people from the outside of their communities, yet when they do they are friendly and interested in sharing what they can with travelers. They recognize the dangers and the harshness of the tundra and wish to help people across it. Sometimes people will come live with them if they are going to be in the tundra for a while.
