The Ember

The ember of eternal flame is one of the artifacts which embody the core elemental energies of this world. The first of them to be found in recent years. Found roughly 75 years ago by a group of adventurers who were assisting the stone brawlers in the newly settled town of Bonewall. The group was hired to clean out some of the new mines that were being dug. In doing so they found a series of tunnels which lead to a few buried rooms from the long past. In one room they found a forge that was enchanted and set in a way that it was still warm a few thousand years after the burial of this room.

Looking within the forge you find a glowing red and black orb about the size of an orange that slowly pulses with warmth. The Stonebrawlers are still in possession of it but they have funded research. This research has determined it to be a magical item of great power with an attunement to the elemental plane of fire. When you are connected to it you are able to cast an assortment of fire based spells as well as transport yourself to the plane of fire. Additionally you are able to walk on the surface of lava and begin to glow slightly as your body warms, but not to a level that is painful.

The most notable thing is that it seems to come from the Olic empire. This serves to provide evidence that they were significantly more advanced than the current age when it comes to the arcane. If they were to use an object such as this which is a powerful object in this day as a mere fire source for a forge than they must surely have been advanced beyond comprehension.
