Vol'nische Palace Kitchen

The palace kitchen is the hearth of the palace for Crown Prince Kěith Cheonsa. Ever since he was little, Kěith has enjoyed cooking, finding it relaxing to be taught various recipes from his great-uncle, Dong-Sukio Cheonsa, the palace chef. Because of this, Kěith has become a fantastic chef in his own right, while having to hide it from his father, Emperor Vladimir Tepes, who believes that only the women in the royal family should be allowed to cook.

The Chef

Dong-sukio has one simple rule that anybody entering the kitchen must follow - "I don't care who you are. If you're in my kitchen, any rules I put in place are the law." While this irks Vlad, he tolerates it as Dong-sukio contains legal guardianship over Kěith after taking care of him in Tong-illa for so long, and if Vlad wants his "heir" to remain at the palace, Vlad will have to put up with all the rules Dong-sukio puts in place. To name a few, here is a list...
  1. If you cook, you clean up your mess. Nobody else is responsible for it.
  2. Whoever cooked your meal must be treated as an equal. No punishing the cook.
  3. You have a right to not like the food, but do not throw the food in the chef's face.
  4. All meals are decided by the head chef, Dong-sukio. Unless Kěith is deciding to cook.
  5. And lastly, if Kěith Cheonsa decides to cook, you respect him. He's the one holding the sharp kitchen utensil after all.

Purpose
The purpose of this room is to cook meals for the royal family and their guests within the palace. Sometimes, the kitchen ends up packed due to the quantity of the guests.

When you walk into the kitchen from the main hall to the elevator that takes food to everyone in the palace, you'll find what looks to be the front of a food market shop. Behind the counter is a door that leads into the cooking portion of the kitchen.   The second entrance can be located in the wine cellar. The door in which deliveries were dropped off has since been sealed off after Crown Princess Marinette Cheonsa was slaughtered by werewolves on Kruqesk 14th Of 1802 EoL.

You can always find Chef Dong-sukio in the kitchen and perhaps a few maids and other servants helping him to cook. If you see the prince, he's probably only cooking to destress and his father isn't at the palace at the moment.

Main Room
When stepping into the kitchen, it spreads out in a 100 x 200 foot (3048 cm x 6096 cm) rectangle with vaulted ceilings. Looking to the left and right shows walls made out of old cobblestone, giving the entrance a homely appearance. In the back are the stoves and over, with white wall made of concrete. Only three windows of the right side of the kitchen give off any indication of what time of day it is.
Sensory & Appearances
As electricity has become extremely popular in the Itude Empire, the lightning in the kitchen has increased drastically, dropping accidents and injuries down to minimum. And thanks to the cooking going on all day, the kitchen is toasty and smells heavenly of baked goods, succulent meats, and mulled Blood Wines. You can almost always hear a fire crackling in the fireplace or hear the sizzling of meat in the oven.

History

On Cahuln 21st of 1374 EoL, the palace was constructed with all its furnishings, including the kitchen. A wine cellar was added on two months later.   Around Biwid 25th of 1672 EoL, Dong-sukio was named the chef of the palace kitchen due to the Cheonsa family wishing for Dong-sukio to stay with Kěith, who has finally returned home from living with his relatives in the Tong-illa Teikoku.   Then, on a fatal Kruqesk 14th of 1802 EoL, Princess Marinette Cheonsa died due to neglect from her brother, Kěith, who was blamed for her death. Dong-sukio was the only one to stand up for the prince. Her death happened in the wine cellar because Prince Kěith wanted to go outside and play in the snow while the royal children were under lockdown to protect them from the growing threat of the war.   A week later the wine cellar door was sealed shut and never touched again.

This sounds like such a lovely room. I'm not surprised that Kěith likes to come here and cook to destress.
