The Blue Dragon

"Welcome to the Blue Dragon! Where would you like to sit?"
— greetings from a waitress
by Amelia Nite (Canva)
If you head north of the Alpha Cabin in the Winter Moon Pack, then turn right, and go up the only street available, you will find the Blue Dragon. This tavern is a built for warmth, comfort, and fond memories. It was designed in 1763 EoL by Ewan Barmin, a Hunter-ranked werewolf in his early forties. The reason he built the tavern was the honor is late mate, Gertrude. All her life, she wanted to own a small inn or pub, but her untimely demise gave Ewan the jump he needed to pursue Gertrude's only dream.   With the tavern constructed, Ewan thought of many names, but the only one that stuck out to him was the Blue Dragon, a term his grandfather used often when describing something that reminded him of home.

Architecture

On the outside, the Blue Dragon looks delightful, warm, and snug. White stone pillars and spruce wooden decorations make up most of the building's outer structure. The original sign from when Ewan was alive has not been changed, but when you enter tavern, you'll see a brand new design posted on the back of ever seat. Though it's impossible to see through the tinted windows, bu the liveliness from within can be felt outside.   The building is retangular-shaped, and contains a patio in which some patrons and customers can sit at tables made from wooden barrels. The roof is low, triangular and layer, and is covered with stone shingles. Two large chimneys sit at the either side of the travern. The second floor is small than the first and works somewhat as an inn. There are a total of six bedrooms. This floor has a slightly different style than the floor below.

The interior of the Blue Dragon welcomes others with its unknown scents and laughing voices. The bartender, Cyran Barmin, is usually quite busy but still manages to welcomes most with a wink.   It's as charming inside as it is on the outside. Wooden beams support the upper floor and the sconces attached to them. The walls are clear of anything, though signs do show plenty of things used to hang on the walls, though they've probably been knocked off by customers who had too much to drink.

The tavern itself is packed. Groups belonging to some kind of organization, whether sport, or music seem to be the primary clientele here, which often leads to exciting evenings. Several long tables are occupied by locals, travelers, foreigners, and anybody else who wishes to join. The other, smaller tables are also occupied by people who seem to be enjoying themselves a lot, perhaps too much, if such a thing is possible. Even most of the stools at the bar are occupied, though nobody seems to mind more company.   There is a rumor about this tavern. Supposedly, it's famous for something, but most people can't remember what for. Though judging by the warmth and joy radiating throughout the tavern, it's probably the atmosphere that makes this tavern famous.

The Customers

The overall quality of the place is good with its cleanliness being above average. While the building itself is medium in size, it makes up for that in the atmosphere. The drink and food prices are fairly low, drawing in more customers every day. It doesn't help that this tavern is the only place Moon Beer is sold, but the drink and food quality earn good remarks from the customers and critics that pass through.   The room pricing is a bit overpriced since they rarely get anyone staying up in the rooms and that tends to be extremely drunk folk who decided to get drunk and pass out in the bar. The room sizes are small-medium in range. Even with the rooms being overpriced and some people have to pay for a room they were forced to take when passed out as to not distrub other guests, the Blue Dragon is crowded with the noise level averaging out in the early hours of the morning but picking back up toward evening.   In the crowd are a few shady characters and the fifty percent of the dark corners are occupied. Most of the patrons are drunk while having some of them being openly armed. Most games that end up being played are card and dice games with some magick pool. The most noteable patron would be the angry, ranting Warrior, who constantly wins at cards.

The Blue Dragon Menu

This menu has been pressed into every table, almost like being lamenated. This very reason helps the menu to be seen by patrons and whoever else passes by. However, the current owner, Cyran Barmin, has threatened to punish anyone who dares break or damage one of his tables from thereon in.   All the food can be found on the menu, which ranges from burgers to chicken to a few high-end dishes such as pan-fried hare rack and seared magpie. A few drinks include the Winter Moon Pack's famous Moon Beer and there is also the Nightmare Peppermint Liquor.

The Barmin Brothers

As the name suggests, they are the descendants of Ewan Barmin. Cyran, the thoughtful bartender, runs the place while Swain Barmin and Guinal Barmin managed the bills and whatever other payments need to be made. Whenever a scuffle happens, Guinal is usually at the heart of it, which makes others wonder how the place stays popular.

I love the history behind this place, and the little bit of mystery you have with the rumour of it being famous for something. Sounds like it'd be an interesting place to drop by of an evening.
